Yes we supply the surfboards and wetsuits All you need is included in the price.
Where will the surf lesson happen?
The surf lessons we run will take place either in West Strand or East Strand. We will take into account the surf conditions (whether its too big or not), wind, tides etc and the capabilities of the group being taught before deciding where to surf.
Do I need to book in advance?

Will the surf lesson teach surfing or bodyboarding?
Carl is a fully qualified surf instructor and will teach you how to stand up surf. However, if you just want to learn to bodyboard thats cool,

What should I do if I wear contacts?
Loads of surfers wear contacts. We recommend that you either wear a pair of disposable contacts or a pair that you can live without incase you lose one.
What is the water temperature like in Portrush?
Pretty cold! The water around Portrush during winter is 7 degree celcious and gets up to 15 or so in the summer. This makes surfing with a wetsuit a necessity.
If I get on well and want to buy a board where can I buy the equipment?
You can purchase boards from Troggs Surf Shop. Come in and see our range of Bics, NSP's, custom boards or 2nd hand board.
What type of safety precautions do Troggs Surf Shop take for people doing surf lessons?

Should I do any exercise to get ready before the surf lesson?
Just general fitness. Stretches, jogging, sit-ups will improve your fitness.
Do I need to know how to swim to take a surf lesson?
As long as you can swim you can take surf lesson. We just ask that people are fairly competent at swimming, you don't have to be an pro.
What is the best time of the year to learn?
Really from April through to October is best because the water will be warmer and therefore make the surf lesson experience a lot more fun.

How long before I am surfing like a World Champ?
Well that depends on you! Surfing is a long learning experience, our surfing lessons provide you with the best possible start.

You can arrange with Carl to book lunch or dinner at any of the best restaurants in town. Carl will of course be able to advise you on other tourist information around the area.
